Artist Statement

In sculpture I am fascinated by materials such as wood, found branches and recycled materials. This reflects my interest in nature and the environment. I want to promote dialogue with the environment and other species. I have studied the aesthetics of Japanese minimalism, and minimalism as an art movement interests me. My relationship with materials is special: I respect them as they are, and they are allowed to speak instead of the artist. My art also respects the old and worn, the found branch by the roadside, and the mold spores growing on surfaces.
